SUIGEN TEA -Leaves and Flowers
Leaves and Flowers
Ingredients Shell ginger Alpinia zerumbet (Yanbaru), juniper berry, orange blossom, lemongrass (Yanbaru)
A large amount of polyphenol is found in shell ginger, which gives it strong antioxidative functions. It is popular for its detoxification and anti-ageing properties. Shell ginger leaves have long been known to have anti-insect, anti-bacterial and anti-mold properties, and are used in Okinawa to wrap “Muchi” sweets, made from kneading mochi powder and water into long flat ovals.
Add 350ml of water to two tablespoons of tea leaves. (The fragrance of the juniper berries is intensified if crushed with the fingers.) Allow to steep for five minutes before serving.
